How Apprenda do Loadbalancing in Web Farm scenario

We are evaluating Apprenda version 3.5.1 for our organization. As part of my evaluvation I have to yet to figure out how the Load balancing features works. In the normal scenario user request will hit the VIP(BIG IP) in Loadbalancer(LB). Then load balancer will be redirect that request to the webservers that configured in the LB. In Apprenda I have read one article explain about WORKLOAD configuration. But still I am not clear where my request will hit. Is there is anything like BIG IP. Please explain me about this.

Hi Sinaj,

Attached is a document that explains how Apprenda handles web traffic and load balancing.

Hi Sinaj,

To specifically address how the BigIP hardware load balancer plays into this:

The Apprenda load manager component is a software load balancer that distributes inbound requests amongst the web tier servers in your Apprenda environment.  The BigIP hardware load balancers you may already have would be used IN FRONT of the Apprenda load manager(s).  So if you wanted to have multiple Apprenda load managers running, you'd use the BigIP to load balance across those... then let the Apprenda load management handle routing inbound requests to the appropriate application workloads.

HLB --> Apprenda Load Management --> Apprenda Web Tier
